SEATTLE - Last night’s 5-4 loss at Safeco Field produced an eerie sense of deja vu for the Red Sox [team stats].
Just like Wednesday night, the Red Sox were facing a 30-year-old rookie starting pitcher. Just like Wednesday night, they enjoyed some early success and grabbed a 4-0 lead. And just like Wednesday night, the offense was shut down after the third inning and the Sox were handed a dispiriting loss.
On Wednesday, it was Matt Palmer of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; last night, it was Chris Jakubauskas of the Seattle Mariners.
Different pitchers, different cities, same result.
