Red Sox hold off Twins

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Kevin Youkilis had a pair of doubles and two runs batted in and Jeff Bailey hit a solo homer, as the Boston Red Sox got by the Minnesota Twins, 6-5, in the opener of a four-game set at the Metrodome.

Jason Bay finished 2-for-5 with a two-run double, while Dustin Pedroia added three hits and two runs for the Red Sox, who came into the contest after losing two of three in an interleague matchup against the New York Mets. Boston has won five of seven overall.

Jacoby Ellsbury recorded two hits and extended his hitting streak to 20 games in the win.
