It's sad the way our servicemen and women have become below-the-fold and inside news. The war rages on, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan, but much of our country's focus is elsewhere. If you've inhabited the Seacoast region for a while, especially the Hampton area, you may have run into James Scott at some point. Hopefully it was for a good reason — he was a part-time officer with the Hampton Police Department for eight years from 1985 to 1993.
Scott is one of those guys people just liked, unless of course he cuffed you, stuffed you and escorted you to a bad guy suite at the police station. Among Scott's fans is New Hampshire Commissioner of Corrections William "Bill" Wrenn.
