Nick Green continued his hot start to the spring going 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Ivan Ochoa was 1-3 with a two-run home and Justin Masterson threw two scoreless innings allowing one hit while striking out one but Adam Mills gave up a two-run homer to Donnie Murphy in the eighth inning to lift the Baltimore Orioles over the Boston Red Sox 5-3 in spring training action on Monday afternoon.
The Orioles put a run on the board in the third inning after Devern Hansack came on in relief for Masterson but Boston tied the game at 1-1 after Green doubled home a run. Baltimore jumped back in front in the bottom half of the frame as they touched up Billy Traber for a pair of runs on thre hits.
Boston tied the game in the seventh on Ochoa’s two-run blast but Mills returned the runs in the eighth when he surrendered the two-run job to Murphy and Wilfrido Perez shut down the Red Sox in the ninth.
